The photo above is my collection of crystals getting ready for their latest full moon bath. I’m just starting to learn more about the metaphysical properties of crystals and how to work with them, and I’m so excited to learn more! They’re not only powerful but beautiful, and I can’t wait until my home is filled with these gorgeous, high-vibe gifts from the earth.
I still have so much to learn, but I’d like to share a few of the ways I’ve started to incorporate crystals into my home and my life:
- Wear them or carry them. Crystals have powerful healing and protective properties — different stones have different effects — and can be worn, carried, or laid on the body. I have a beautiful citrine point necklace that I wear when I want to feel more confident, assertive and decisive. Citrine strengthens the solar plexus chakra, which is related to personal power and will. And since I have fears around security and my abilities to provide for myself (root chakra issues) I’ve taken to wearing grounding stones like hematite and smoky quartz in my pockets. Crystals can also be held in the hands while meditating to help reach a calm and receptive state.
- Use them in feng shui. I’ve barely touched on feng shui here on the blog, but it’s an important part of my home and life and I will definitely be writing more about it. In feng shui, your home is divided into a map of 9 separate areas called the bagua, each corresponding to a different area of your life. You can place appropriate crystals into each area to enhance and support the energies of that space. For instance, in the love corner of my bedroom I placed an amethyst cluster and a pair of rose quartz stones. In my wealth area, I placed a citrine ball and some green aventurine.
- Make grids. Crystal grids are a powerful tool for manifesting and focusing intention. To make a grid you carefully choose stones that are aligned with your intention, and place them in a geometric pattern (often using sacred geometry). Watch a video on how to make the grid below HERE. You can also grid your entire house by placing crystals in each of the four corners of your home.
I’m a beginner, so these are just the things I’ve done so far, but there are so many more possibilities! First of all, every beginner needs a copy of The Crystal Bible by Judy Hall. And my very favorite online resource so far is Energy Muse, where you can shop for crystals and read a ton of great articles about them too. I also love Hibiscus Moon and her terrific videos on all the ways to work with crystals.
Check them all out and let me know what you think!
